Who doesn’t love food festivals? You eat all kinds of delicious food, listen to live music, shop one-of-a-kind products, and learn something new from workshops and classes. I’ve always enjoyed going to one especially if the event is all-vegan. I still couldn’t believe though, that from being a festival spectator, I am getting invitations to be a festival speaker. The experience has come full circle and it feels a bit surreal. Have you had a similar experience before where you are now on the other side of the picture?
It’s not that I’ve never done a food demonstration before. I’ve done food demos for a couple of years now but the nerves never go away. I would still pinch myself to know if it’s for real! In the coming weeks, I will be braving the stage again to hold a series of food demos to de-mystify vegan Filipino food. Below are some photos from my past demos as well the schedule for upcoming ones.
Over the past demos, I’ve met new friends and gained new perspective from them. They’ve made me realize that people -both vegans and non-vegans, are interested in delicious food and good well-being. My stage fright would sometimes make me think that the audience will be out to get me, but in reality, they have been nothing but gracious and engaged in my presentation. I hope it stays that way!
Another great thing about holding food demonstrations is that I get to see and meet my social media and blog friends in person. It’s always nice to put faces behind the tag names. I hope I get to see you in person as well. Please let me know if you could make it to any of the future events. I would love to finally meet you.
