Have you bought your Mother’s Day gift yet?
The other day I was shopping for Mother’s Day gifts for my mom, my sister, and Chris’ mom and got great bargains. I thought I should share them with you in case you haven’t bought your gift yet.
Here are 5 affordable, last minute gifts for Mother’s Day. I’ve also included some that I had bought in the past that my mom loved and I hope yours will too.
Oh, by the way, if you are mom, ate Rhea, or Tita Evelyn and reading this, please stop! Spoiler alert!
1. Hydrangea plant in a pot (Or any flowering plant in a pot). Instead of getting a flower bouquet, give a flowering plant in a pot that could last a long time. I gave one to my mom more than three years ago and she still has it in her garden, blooming beautifully every year. I bought mine at Home Depot but you could get it at any garden store.
2. Thermal Food Warmer. This is the one I’m getting my mom this year. I think it’s perfect for potlucks and parties. My mom always has something going on at her work -whether it’s a potluck or a company party where she either needs to bring food to work or bring it home. This thermal carrier will come in handy for those occasions. I got mine at a nearby Bed Bath and Beyond store. You could get one there or buy similar ones online.
3. Vegan Cuts Marketplace. I go here for vegan bargains where some products are discounted at more than 50% off and where everything is vegan. Note that this is an affiliate link but also note that I won’t endorse anything that I won’t buy or use myself. In fact, I have, especially the bargains. I would usually buy makeup and skin care here. One of the latest offers is a Deluxe Travel Organic Skincare Set originally $75, now $37 with free shipping.
4. National Geographic’s Nature’s Best Remedies. I would spot this thick magazine (or thin book?) at supermarkets and grocery stores. I think it’s a convenient gift to buy, just head over to your nearest Safeway, Rite Aid, or neighborhood grocery store and grab one of these at the checkout counter. This magazine is filled with amazing facts about natural remedies and healing properties of plants to improve one’s health and well-being. I sure do love one for myself but it will greatly benefit moms too -or anybody!
5. Homemade Coconut Pie. I love handmade gifts because I truly believe that it’s the thought that counts when it comes to gift-giving. Show your mom that you put in some thought and time in your present by creating something from scratch. I suggest one of the dishes from Astig Vegan, particularly Coconut or Buko Pie. This coconut pie is simple and easy to make and delectable and delicious to eat. Mother’s Day is a celebration so some form of pie or yummy food should be involved.
I hope the list helped you out a bit especially because Mother’s Day is just around the corner!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there, especially to my mom who is the most courageous woman I know. She has done so much for her family; she’s hardworking, nurturing, smart, funny, and super talented. I’ve learned how to cook Filipino food from her. I wish her happiness, health, and success. Cheers!
