Restaurant Review: Enjoy Vegetarian Cuisine

Enjoy Vegetarian Cuisine is a must try for vegans and non vegans alike. In fact my meat eater friend was the one who discovered this place and talked so much good things about it I had to try it out!

Their menu is 100% vegan but they use the term “Vegetarian” in their name because most people are not familiar with the term vegan yet.  The menu comprises an array of selections, some with mock meats, others with just vegetable goodness.  Their mock meats are not just made of soy, but also of yam, and wheat gluten which makes their selections even more interesting and creative.

Enjoy Veg also has items not usually seen in other Vegan Chinese restaurants. For example, vegan shark fin soup, fatty pork,  taro chicken (which I loooovvee), and many more.

What we ordered:
(Pardon the quality of the photos. I only had my cellphone camera at the time.)

Taro, Sesame Veggie Chicken Cooked w/ Coconut Sauce –so savory and
hands down my all-time favorite

String Beans and Veg Pork with Black Beans Sauce – a staff recommendation that didn’t fail to deliver!

Vegan Shark Fin Soup – nourishing soup with different kinds of mushroom. I remember also having this when I was sick and feeling better right after a bowl.

My boyfriend, Chris and I had Enjoy Veg last Sunday night around 9pm. We were looking for a restaurant that was still open and I was so glad that Enjoy took us in even though they were already closing. In fact, the staff made sure that we took our time eating and don’t feel compelled to leave right away. The waitress was so gracious explaining every dish and made sure she’s around if we need anything. Enjoy definitely lives up to its name.

Enjoy Vegetarian has two locations. We tried the one in Chinatown, 839 Kearny Street, San Francisco. They’re open daily from 11:00am – 2:30pm, 5:00pm – 9:00pm.
